To be honest, I’m a little embarrassed typing that question. And I don’t get embarrassed easily talking about.
I can’t say that talking dirty has ever been a quality I’ve demanded in a woman. But apparently some guys want a foul-mouthed gal.
How else do you explain this Dirty Dialogue: A Good Girl’s Guide to Being Bad!called
“Has your man put pressure on you to perform in bed – even demanded that you talk dirty for his pleasure – freezing you like a deer in headlights and making you feel you’re not good enough for him?” says a website promoting the book.
Well, guys, have you ever made this demand? And how was it received?
Apparently, some women try their hardest at dirty talk but fail miserably, according to the book’s author, Devian Day.
“Have you ever attempted to talk dirty to your man after pushing yourself to break the ice, didn’t get the response you expected, and quickly felt awkward and embarrassed – killing the mood – making you look back at the experience with fear, guilty and rejecting?” she writes.
Oh, the trauma!
My eyes have been opened to a whole new sexual issue between a man and a woman: Can you (will you) talk dirty to me when we screw?
I’m bummed. I thought we already had enough sexual conflict.
On her lengthy website, the author promises to unlock the “secrets to talking dirty to a guy” – if you buy her book for $39.97.
If anyone buys it, let me know what you think. In the meantime, I’ll pose the question to men and women alike: How important is dirty talk during sex?
Personally, actions speak far louder than words to me. I suppose the right words are icing on the cake, but words alone don’t create sexual fulfillment.
If they could, why not just have phone sex with anonymous people? It’d sure be simpler than having relationships.
Out of curiosity, I did a Google search on “talking dirty.” I found a treasure trove of websites offering advice.
“How To Talk Dirty: 50 Examples That Will Make You Blush!” read one article.
One of my favorite sites, AskMen.com, gave guys some sample phrases to use in bed. They include:
- Do you want me to slide my throbbing member into your sweet portal?
- The thought of you wrapping your hot mouth around my pulsating rod drives me crazy.
I started laughing when I read those lines. Is this article serious or satirical? I can’t tell.
Some sex experts say dirty talk is no laughing matter – it works. Tracey Cox, who bills herself as “an international sex, body language and relationship expert,” advises women to work on their filthy phrases.
“It’s time to get serious about the benefits this surprisingly easy trick will have on your sex life,” she writes. “As well as being a great – and subtle – way of telling your man exactly what you want in bed, it will drive him crazy, so it really is a win-win situation.”
Are you sold on the benefits of dirty talk?
At the moment, I’m simply speechless.
When it comes to sex, different things work for different people. Who are we to judge? If a guy poses the question above (Do you want me to slide my throbbing member into your sweet portal?) – and it works, more power to him.
